The Lock401 Padlock Lifter is a padlock "lifting" tool, which exploits a weakness found in several padlocks that have only one spring-loaded bolt.
The technique is incredibly simple: insert the tool as far as possible, apply a lever movement, and compatible locks will open instantly. This is also referred to as the "silly technique".
