Introduction
The Sparrows Tension Wheel is an innovative way to apply to tension during picking. Tension is applied to a lock by turning the ring, and scale gauge shows exactly how much tension is being applied.
Having a quantitative reference for torque is useful in two key situations: learning and electric picks.
Learning
Tension is one of the hardest aspects to teach and understand when learning lock-picking. The Tension Wheel removes this problem: demonstrations can be made at a specific tension level, and students can reproduce the exercise with the exact same tension. Likewise, when learning solo, the student can start at a specific level, rake, and release tension to see if pins were set. If not, tension can be raised one more level - allowing for the student to quantitatively dose tension and understand the relationship between tension and picking.
Electric Picking
The Tension Wheel is the Electropick's best friend - allowing for smooth, reliable and reproducible tension from the top and bottom of the lock, while concentrating on the electric pick.
