Introduction

Successful picking requires the right tools. There are literally hundreds of kits on the market, but when starting out - it's hard to know what you need now, what you'll need later, and which tools are useful and which tools are redundant.

The Lockpicking Starter Pack is a curated collection of the must-have tools for lockpicking. With this pack, you have everything you need learn, perfection and apply your lockpicking skills in the field.

The Pack includes picks and tension wrenches you can't live without, progressive practice locks to provide realistic challenges for every skill level without frustration, and repinning kits to allow you to build your own custom challenge locks and refine specific skills. Also included are tools for padlock and combination lock picking and bypass.

The pack is built on 10+ years of in-the-field experience and refining our own picking "every-day carry" kits.

While 'standard' tension wrenches work in many situations, flat tension wrenches have become our go-to choice: instead of flexing when applying tension, flat wrenches remain rigid, giving you more control over the torque applied. Likewise, most locks in the field are installed in door hardware that makes using regular 'angle wrenches' frustrating: not enough space, slipping in curved lock profiles, etc.
  
  The Flat Tension Wrench Kit has 5 tools with 10 unique heads adapted to every possible lock type and situation.
  

• Sparrows Progressive Practice Locks (4pcs)
  Sparrows Progressive Locks are an innovative approach to practicing and mastering the art of lock picking. While most other practice locks control difficulty via pin combination or pin type, the Progressive Lock change the number of pins.
  
  By starting with two pins, the interaction between each pin, the lock and tension can be broken down. By mastering each step, by the time you progress to four and five-pin locks, you'll have strong foundations and started to develop your own style and feeling - without being overwhelmed.
  
  The Progressive Locks are also compatible with our Master Key Pinning Set - allowing them to be repurposed for more and more advanced scenarios.
  
  
• Reload Kit + Tweezers
  When you've mastered our Progressive Locks, and looking to hone your skills on specific challenges, the Sparrows Reload Kit contains everything required to rapidly and professionally repin locks.
  
  Repinning allows you to hone your skills on specific challenges, by building lock configurations that correspond to what you're practicing: high-low pin configurations, high-security pins (spool, serrated, mushroom..), 6-pin locks, etc.
  
  Included in the kit are four "Challenge Keys" - pre-configured keys and pin sets that correspond to specific picking situations to allow you to perfect your skills.
  
  
• Master Key Pinning Kit
  

  Get a practical understanding of master keys and master keying systems with the Sparrow Master Key Pinning Set.

  Featuring one master key, two sub-master keys, and four individual keys, it also comes with enough spare pins to create your own master-key system. As with the Repinning Kit, the Master Key Pinning Kit is compatible with your Progressive Locks!
  

• Sparrows Ultra Decoder Tool
  The Sparrows Ultra Decoder is a super-thin blade (0.2mm!) that has two uses: rapid decoding of combination-wheel locks, and also serves as a bypass tool for many oval padlocks.
  
  The Ultra Decoder is built to last - high quality, high tensile spring steel and a molded plastic handle makes this a tool you'll have for a long time.
  
  
• Padlock Bypass Combs (2pcs)
  Combing is one of the easiest techniques to bypass padlocks. Push in, push down, turn and open. Almost as quick as the original key!
  
  These are not generic combs: the innovative thin tips allow for wide compatibility, and the tools are optimised for strength.
  
  
• Padlock Shims (20ps)
  Exploiting tolerances in manufacturing, shims slide into the gap between the padlock body and the shackle, and when turned depress the locking mechanism, releasing the shackle.
